Honedown | Image Compression
Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats does Honedown support?
Honedown supports PNG, JPEG, HEIC, and TIFF for both input and output. You can convert between any of these formats during compression.
Does Honedown upload my images anywhere?
No. All image processing happens locally on your Mac using Apple's built-in ImageIO framework. Honedown makes no network connections and contains no networking code.
Is there a subscription?
No. Honedown is a one-time purchase. Pay once, use forever. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases.
Will Honedown modify my original images?
No. Honedown never modifies your original files. Compressed images are saved as new files in a folder you choose, and if a name is already taken Honedown adds a number instead of overwriting anything.
What does the EXIF toggle do?
EXIF metadata includes camera settings, GPS coordinates, timestamps, and other information embedded in your photos. With the toggle on, Honedown preserves this data. With it off, metadata is stripped for privacy.
How many images can I compress at once?
There is no limit. Select as many images as you need and Honedown will process them all in a batch.
Can I get a refund?
Honedown is sold through the Mac App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
