BandBar — Menu Bar Speed Test
Last updated: August 2026
No Data Collected
BandBar does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens entirely on your device.
Data Practices in Detail
BandBar collects no data. It requests no permission dialogs and stores nothing you measure: test results are held in memory and cleared when the app quits. Network access is used for two things only, the throughput and latency measurements (speed.cloudflare.com, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8) and reading your external IP address from 1.1.1.1/cdn-cgi/trace, which is displayed to you and never stored or forwarded. BandBar has no settings to store. The only values it keeps on your Mac are a few counters and dates used by the rate-the-app prompt, so it knows when to ask you once, and they never leave your Mac. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
